Globachem

Globachem, established in 2000 in Sint-Truiden, is a family-owned business that has positioned itself as a significant player in the European crop protection market. Their focus on innovation, globalisation, and sustainability reflects their commitment to safe food production with a minimal ecological footprint. With a range of generic and proprietary products, Globachem assists farmers and horticulturists in protecting their crops.

Since hiring their first employee in 2003, the company has grown into an organization with over 100 employees. This growth necessitated an expansion of their office in Sint-Truiden, which previously accommodated around 70 people. Instead of opting for a new building on a different site, Globachem decided to invest in an expansion of their existing office to save space and minimize ecological impact.

The chosen expansion design makes optimal use of the available space.

The new design features a beam-shaped volume that is placed above and alongside the existing office building, supported by concrete columns. This approach allows for efficient expansion without the need for an entirely new building on a different location. The facade of this new volume, made from a combination of glass and brushed aluminum, provides a modern look and integrates seamlessly with the existing structure.

This approach to expanding within the existing location not only saves space but also strengthens Globachem’s market position and highlights their commitment to sustainability and responsible growth. The new office not only provides space for more employees but also underscores their core values of innovation and efficient resource use.
